On Tuesday, May 24, Massasoit Community College, in conjunction with the Randolph High School First Responder Program, the Randolph Police Department, and the Randolph Fire Department held Operation Prom Night, a large-scale demonstration of the effects of teenage drinking, driving, and distracted driving.
A mock motor vehicle crash was staged in the parking lot of Randolph High School. The students in the First Responder Program chose their roles in the demonstration – first responders, fire fighters, or police officers. The first responders demonstrated the skills they’ve learned in the program and spoke to students about the dangers of drunk and distracted driving.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for the students in the first responder program to practice the skills they’ve learned in a real life setting while teaching their classmates of the dangers of impaired and distracted driving” said Scott Meagher, Director of the Paramedic Program at Massasoit Community College. “We are grateful to the Randolph Fire Department for their continued support, and are proud of the accomplishments of our students.”
